Privacy policy

The short version
We collect what you type into the quote form, and we pass it to one plumbing contractor so they can quote your job. We do not sell it to anyone else. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing hello@ottawapolyb.com.
What we collect
- What you give us: name, phone number, email address, property address or postal code, and the answers you select about the property — area, home type, age, bathroom count, basement finish, what prompted the enquiry and your timeline. Plus anything you write in the notes field.
- Consent record: the wording of the consent you agreed to and the date and time you submitted it. We keep this because Canadian anti-spam law requires us to be able to show it.
- Basic technical data: the page you submitted from and the site that referred you, used to understand which pages work.
Why we collect it
To introduce you to a contractor who can quote your project, and to maintain the record of consent that lets them contact you. That is the only purpose.
Who we share it with
One plumbing contractor serving your area. They are independent of us; once your details reach them, their own privacy practices apply to how they use them, and you can ask them directly to delete your information.
We also use ordinary service providers — web hosting, form processing and email — who handle data on our behalf. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to lead brokers, data aggregators, marketers or anyone else.
Consent and withdrawing it
We only contact you about the enquiry you submitted. There is no newsletter. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us; we will delete your record and tell the contractor we referred you to. A contractor you have already spoken with may keep their own records of the conversation, so ask them directly as well.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept for two years, then deleted. Consent records are kept for three years, which is the period we may need to evidence them.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Your form answers are held in your own browser’s session storage while you complete the form, so you do not lose them if you move between pages, and they are discarded when you close the tab. If we add analytics later, this page will say so before we do.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you can ask what we hold about you, ask for corrections, and ask for deletion. Email hello@ottawapolyb.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site is for homeowners and is not directed at anyone under 18.
